The Folloe Foundation, in support of the Agricultural Cooperative of the Folloe Plateau, designed and implemented a pioneering program of test crops in collaboration with companies of known value in the field of the primary sector. As the first option, the cultivation of corn was chosen in collaboration with the company Corteva–Pioneer. The purpose of the program, which focuses on the local climatological – soil characteristics and peculiarities, is to create proposals for alternative crops to the producers with improved cultivation and commercial characteristics compared to the existing ones. The main objective of the program, in conjunction with the important infrastructure projects implemented by the Foundation in the region and the newly established Agricultural Cooperative of Folloe Plateau, is to be a catalyst for the development of active individuals and groups in the wider region.
